Holy apple nugget! WE had such a fantastic time. We thank the entire town of Lincoln City for getting this together. A very special thanks to BELLA BEACH – http://bellabeach.com you have got to visit here when you plan your next beach getaway. AWESOME places. Also Bill Wilson, who had the vision to put this thing together in the first place. Pat Brooks and Pat Dunne for all of their hard work, Elizabeth Black for all of HER hard work and of course, Taft High School’s favorite music instructor, Andy Hordichok for not only participating in our band, but also for providing us with all of the stage risers and the house PA system. AWESOME guy.
One of my favorite things in the evening was when Andy brought out the Taft High School (shout out) choir to sing three numbers for our opener. They were awesome.
Troy and I did a live interview on KBCH, AM 1400 with Kieth Altomare. He was a wonderful host and has really gone above and beyond in contributing to the successful attendance of the event. Plugs every day, playing our CD constantly… really wonderful work.
The room capacity is 250, so Elizabeth had 250 tickets printed. I was told that all tickets had been sold prior to the show and they just kept selling as a “cover charge” anyway. I remember seeing the entire back of the room – behind the seats – packed with people standing and the ramps to the exits were also filled with people.
This was a fund raising event for the Lincoln City Cultural Center and I have been told that the funds raised far exceeded their own hopes and expectations. It’s really a good feeling to be part of something like this.
I want to give a shout out to Rachael Contorer who came with us to play bass; Devan Stovall as well, on drums; Kevin Seeley our trumpet dude and for this performance, band leader – he generated all of the charts and ran the rehearsal and did a truly amazing job; Stevie “Long Grain” Rice was, as always, miraculous. I loved it when he would get off the piano bench, kick it back a little and make you feel like maybe Jerry Lee was suddenly being channeled onstage. Troy Kline – you were your usually great self and surprisingly enough, you didn’t drive me as nuts as usual. Quinn Haynie helped us with the sound board too – shout out to him too.
My mom, Jan Wilson, was terrific and made us all a superdelicious brunch day of the show. Then she and my dad had a little after-show party back at Seadreamer and we got to unwind and have a few drinks, a little snacky food and some unscripted piano and singing. Very much fun
I especially want to thank Lisa Scheyer, my little pooh bear, for all the wonderful help she gave over the entire weekend. She was sort of a band mom for the mob we were. Thank you sweetie!
As another bonus to the weekend I was able to re-connect with a long-lost friend of mine from LA. I moved to Seattle and we drifted then she moved to Portland and e-mailed me out of the blue about a month ago. She came to the LC to see the show and visit. It was really great seeing you Patricia! (I won’t use your last name because I know you have a stalker!)
We have a lot more in the making, so stay tuned!

What a wonderful show in Lincoln City. People in this small town will be talking about this event for a long time to come. The music was great….everyone in the audience was tapping their feet and feeling the beat. Talked to a 90 yr old woman who said she had the time of her life, enjoyed the show and commented on what a talented group they were. Steve Rice on the piano was his awesome self, and so was drummer Devin and Rachel on the bass. The local brass section was beyond wonderful, you would have thought they had been playing with Half Pack Live forever. Mark and Troy put on the best performance I have ever seen. Troy tore the place up with At Last. and Mark sung the audience breathless with One for my Baby. you could have heard a pin drop. The performers made the audience feel a part of what was happening on stage….Like we were all part of it ourselves. from the funny lines, to the antic’s, and Mark gave us plenty…But we all felt a part of the secrets that were going on onstage…..it was great. The show ended with a standing ovation and call for more. We want to see this group in our little town again and again…. I’m a big fan
